Stan Lee Tribute by Dam Crew
This year, Art Basel couldn’t be missed. Not when your homies get invited to do Basel House at Art Basel. The Dam Crew is a Miami based group of graffiti artists that consist of Gwizah, Twrexxmonsta, Keds, Freek and Furious. All of these guys grew up with the hubby, and they pretty much paved the way for graffiti artists to get recognized as real artists here in Miami, not just vandals tagging up walls.
As you can see from the Stan Lee Tribute piece they worked on for this year’s Art Basel, they are incredibly talented artists. It was great to be able to go and show them support. They take great pride in what they do and they are very deserving of getting top bill at this year’s at Art Basel. It was cool to see artists at work and see their art coming to life, from a white wall to the finished product.
We got to walking around some of the blocks at Art Basel to see some of the other artwork that had been done and what else was being worked on by other artists. Luckily, we went early in the day and got to beat the crowds. We came across another artist, Cloe Hakakian, that was working on a huge wall while a photo shoot was going on, which was pretty cool to witness.
We had a great day, even with the rain we had on and off. A big thank you to The Dam Crew for being such great hosts while we were there watching them work and taking some time to chat with us. You guys were all awesome and did a superb job with your tribute wall to the great Stan Lee. Congratulations!!!
